On Thursday 27th October, Youngballymun held an event to launch the Infant Mental Health Evaluation carried out by Dr Evelyn Gordon and her team in DCU.
Dr Suzanne Zeedyk reflected on the findings of Youngballymun’s Infant Mental Health (IMH) evaluation, ‘Building Relational Capacity in Parents and Children’. Suzanne gave a keynote address which supported the research around the importance of emotional connection for human health and happiness; ‘What does the science tell us and how can we use it to think more deeply about fostering connection and compassion across Ballymun?’
Youngballymun were joined by an esteemed panel including the Ombudsman for children, Dr Niall Muldoon, Vanessa Fitzgerald, General Manager, Primary Care, DNC, Debbie Talbot, Interim Area Manager DNC, Tusla and Ciara Pidgeon, Principal Officer, Parenting Support Policy Unit, the Department of Children, Equality, Disability and Youth. They had an opportunity to reflect on the findings from the evaluation and Suzanne’s input on the importance of emotional connection for human health and happiness; ‘What does the science tell us and how can we use it to think more deeply about fostering connection and compassion across Ballymun?’ .
