Parenting When Separated

Helping Your Children Cope and Thrive

For who?

This course is for parents who are preparing for, are going through or have gone through a separation or divorce.  It will take place once a week for 8-10 weeks in a community setting

What can I expect? 

This course will help parents learn how to deal with parenting/co-parenting issues that can arise as a result of separation, in a positive way that helps parents and children. How to cope with the impact of separation both emotionally and practically and learn stress management techniques.  Help your children cope with the impact of the separation both emotionally and practically, enhance communication with your child and your child’s other parent

Why do we do it? 

  • Support parents to deal with the impact separation can have on themselves and their children
  • Help parents understand that coping with separation can be a long process
  • Encourage parents to take care of themselves emotionally and physically
  • Learn how to co-parent their children in a way that focusses on their children’s needs
